Hi Neighbors, I'm David Doxey and I have the privilege of being the new President of your Laurel Cove Civic League. My wife, Pat, and I are long time residents of Laurel Cove having moved here in 1987. We are both retired, Pat from the automotive business and I from Federal Service. We have two children, a boy and a girl, both married, and we have six grandchildren.
First, I would like to thank outgoing President, Michelle Simmons, for her service and dedication in 2012/2013. She provided the direction and leadership necessary to ensure the success of the many community functions held our residents. I look forward to working with her in the future as she continues to support the LCCL as she assumes her new role as President Emeritus.
I would also like to acknowledge and thank all other outgoing Board members for their service and dedication in supporting the numerous activities held for all of our residents.
As most of you know the LCCL plans and conducts many great annual events for residents including: Easter in the Park, 4th of July in the Park, Fall Meet and Greet, and Santa in the Park.
The Board and myself are exploring additional ideas for community activities, details are to follow as plans develop. Your ideas and thoughts regarding future activities are both welcomed and encouraged. However, in order to conduct the neighborhood activities, the Board needs help. That's where you come in. Volunteers are what make our planned activities successful, step up to be a volunteer, it provides you the opportunity to become a Board member, meet new neighbors and your children to make new friends all while attending these great activities. So come join us, enjoy the fun and rewarding experience of being a part of this wonderful neighborhood.
